Council fellowship and grants programs are strategic — they are targeted to a problem, promote individual and institutional change, generate new knowledge and build networks. The library's special strength's include children's literature, graphic arts, Medieval, Renaissance, and modern manuscripts, and Western Americana.
Priority will also be give to areas and methodologies not receiving adequate support from other funding sources. The Fellowship is for one academic year. Fellows are expected to make periodic presentations of their work to the Woodson fellows and the larger academic community.
International Fellowships are open to women who are not U. BJS invests in doctoral education by supporting universities that sponsor students who demonstrate the potential to complete doctoral degree programs successfully in disciplines relevant to the mission of BJS, and who are in the final stages of graduate study.
Postdoctoral and masters degree students are not eligible for consideration. Applications welcomed from a variety of disciplines, including but not limited to education, sociology, economics, psychology, statistics, and psychometrics.
It is required that each fellow spend a minimum of 3 days per week in residence in the Lillian Goldman Reading Room using the archival and library resources.
